Job Purpose:
The BritBox and BBC Select Programming teams are seeking a motivated intern to support a range of standalone projects across both brands. This role will provide hands-on experience within the Programming team, contributing to key initiatives that support content strategy and platform curation.
This internship offers a valuable opportunity for an aspiring media professional to gain practical exposure to the planning, selection, and management of streaming content within a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
Assess the competitive landscape and scheduling practices to inform best practices ahead of new platform launches
Accurately tag metadata for content assets
Learn and apply basic performance analytics to support internal business review meetings
Audit content inventories to ensure accuracy and completeness
Maintain scheduling and planning documents and databases
Identify unauthorized uploads of content across platforms
Enter historical data related to content licenses into the AirTable database
Assist the team with content screening and optimize synopses for viewer engagement
Support ad-hoc programming projects as needed
Knowledge and Experience:
Strong interest in media programming, content management, or the entertainment industry
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
Basic analytical ability, or willingness to quickly learn analytics concepts
Comfortable handling data entry and database management tasks
Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
Eagerness to learn and contribute meaningfully to programming initiatives
Salary Range: $17/hour base salary
Please note that the salary range is intended to give as an indicator of the salaries that could be attributed to the breadth or experience for a given role. All candidates will be measured based on their level of experience.
